Ted Gardner

Ted is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Silverhawk Capital Partners. Prior to founding Silverhawk, Ted served as Managing Partner of Wachovia Capital Partners (formerly, First Union Capital Partners). Prior to that, he served as Vice President and Shareholder in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Kidder, Peabody & Company Incorporated in New York. Ted is currently a director of Encore Acquisition Company (EAC), and was previously a director of Kinder Morgan, Inc., from its formation in 1997 until the completion of the management buyout in 2007.

Ted earned his B.A. in Economics from Duke University. He earned his JD and his MBA degrees from the University of Virginia.

Summit Materials Announces Acquisitions in Utah and Kansas

Washington, D.C. April 2, 2012 – Summit Materials (“Summit”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Westroc, Inc. (“Westroc”), an aggregates and ready-mix concrete company in Utah, and the purchase of certain aggregates, ready-mix concrete, asphalt and paving assets based in Wichita, Kansas from Lafarge North America, Inc. (“Lafarge, Wichita Assets”). Summit acquired mineral reserves in excess of 100 million tons through these transactions.

Westroc, based in Pleasant Grove, Utah, operates two aggregates sites and seven ready-mix concrete plants along the Wasatch Front. The Lafarge, Wichita Assets comprise two aggregates operations, three ready-mix concrete plants and one asphalt plant located in metro Wichita and the broader southeast Kansas area.
